Born in Jamaica's Westmoreland, Everton Boland was deeply influenced by his family's legacy in law enforcement. His grandfather, a true hero to him, ignited Everton's passion for boxing. Growing up in Spanish Town, he attended St Catherine High School, where he found inspiration in his favorite teacher, Miss Beach. It was at the boxing gym on East Queen Street that Everton's love for boxing flourished, thanks to his friend and mentor, Nathan Ellis, a former fighter.

From a young age, Everton was a hustler, making money in the market at just 11 years old. His grandfather became his first promoter, fueling Everton's dreams of becoming a boxer. Though he eventually migrated to the United States, spending nearly 12 years in Paterson, New Jersey, and nearly 4 decades in Toms River raising his children, Everton never let go of his love for boxing. He became a boxing promoter, establishing the West Indies Boxing Gym, where he trained and mentored countless aspiring fighters.

Everton's friendship with the six-time world champion, Emile Griffith, was a testament to his success in the sport. Together, they triumphed in numerous tournaments, including the Golden Glove Championships, Diamond Club Championship, Regional Championship, and Silver Glove Championship. Their achievements were remarkable, including their win in the State Championship of 1995, but financial difficulties eventually led to the closure of the gym.

Everton's heart still yearned to make a difference in the lives of inner-city kids, who desperately needed an escape from the streets and away from the allure of guns. To fulfill his dream, Everton aspires to acquire funding to establish a new facility, rekindling his boxing career and promoting the sport. Throughout his career, he collaborated with renowned promoters such as Don King, Ronald “Butch” Everett Lewis, and Cedric Kushner, organizing successful events at prestigious venues like Madison Square Garden and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

His list of memorable fight promotions includes the likes of Rockman Lewis, Tracy Byrd, Red Eagle, Jose Soto, and Louis Azille.

Everton's promotions reached far and wide, from the Friday Night Fights at Asbury Park Convention Center to the "War at the Shore" in Virginia. In 2001, he ventured to Dubai, becoming the first promoter to introduce boxing to the region. Although the highly anticipated fight between heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon and Virgil Hill never materialized, Everton remained resilient and faithful to his dreams.

Everton's life took a different turn when he prioritized raising his children after his wife's passing. Now, he is determined to return to boxing and his mission of inspiring and guiding young individuals. Everton's ultimate goal is to provide a haven for kids and steer them away from a life plagued by violence. For him, this is not the end but a new beginning, fueled by his unwavering passion to change lives through the sport he holds dear.
